I wasn't as hooked as most readers by the 1st chapter. However a lack of reading material kept me soldiering on valiantly, and I read page by page, growing more enraptured, till the nail-biting cliffhanger. The author skillfully drew me in and kept me reading till 3AM not caring that I have to be ready for work shortly. My "only"complaints are: as stated in one of the reviews, the "ease of acceptance", which is lacking in believability; and that I'll unlikely be able to continue the remaining parts of the saga
A little far-fetched at times but it's a great mix of action, adventure, romance and angst. The main characters were quite well fleshed out, though Hennessey was a tad too "enigmatic", Ms. Perry succeeded in making one root for the "bad" guy.
I sincerely hope a follow-up to this story is in the pipeline. Sterling Flynn Halloran Hennessy is too tasty a man to leave his story without a satisfactory end.
