Michael Shriver

Biography

Michael was raised in Baltimore, MD; Jonesboro, GA; Decatur, GA; Stone Mountain, GA; Lillburn, GA; and Weston, CT by the age of fourteen, including six different schools. Being the "new kid" never had a chance to get old. School was a disaster, so in 1983 he ran away to Los Angeles to spend a decade getting lost in the music scene.

Most of it was a blur, but he reports flashbacks of amazing times...

Decades later, Michael is a well spouse and a caregiver with a closed support group for patients with RSD/CRPS. The book, "Life with the Suicide Disease: The Story of Rodney Mann" was born in that group.

Smashwords Interview

How do you approach cover design?
Bold and In Your Face.

In this case, I took a picture of Rodney at the beach - we were at Zuma. It was a beautiful afternoon, but it was impossible for him to enjoy it because of the symptoms of his disease. I removed everything warm from the picture.

Regarding the type, I used to make band posters in the eighties. Loud and to the point, no attention span required.

I am a bigger fan of album covers than book covers, and I lean that way in concept.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
My phone - a Samsung with a Kindle app. I keep a library on it - "how to" do everything.
