My Thoughts I wanted to read this book because of a review it got....a bad one. Thats right. I wanted to read a book that got a 1 star rating. Why? you ask. Well, the reviewer tore into the characters, pointed out their flaws, and generally said that other than the sex the book wasn't worth the read. So I was intrigued. But the clincher, the reason that I HAD to read this book was the author, Maggie James. Even though she had just received a bad review she very calmly and graciously thanked the reviewer in the comments tab. Thats right, she said thank you and even apologized to the reviewer for her book not meeting the readers needs. Now I haven't been doing this reviewing lark for long, but I have seen plenty of authors get pissy and grumpy and try rallying support on twitter, facebook and goodreads to counteract a bad review. But what did Miss James do?, she APOLOGIZED!!!!!! So, I headed over to Smashwords and purchased a copy. The story itself is not a bad one in fact, I quite liked it. I did struggle a little bit at the start, as it does tend to jump about a bit between all the characters. And there are a lot of characters to keep track of but once I settled into the story it evened out. Sexy vampire rock stars, with tortured backgrounds, dead evil nemesis, mysterious vampire murders, and sex!! So it ticks all the boxes. Action, it has. Romance, it has. Blood sucking, it has. Sex, it most definitely has. Overall, its a good read, and it is only the first installment in a series. So there is room to iron out some of the kinks. I look forward to reading more of the Only After Dark Series. I give Love Bleeds a 3.5 star rating

So intergalactic intrigue and invading Aliens is not something I would normally choose to read. Sci/fi generally doesn't do it for me. However I quite enjoyed this story. I connected with the characters, the storyline was interesting, I had a healthy dislike for the relevant troublemakers and I was entertained. I did find the choice of body image for these aliens a little weird, I mean upright standing humanoid Cats and Wolves....O-Kay?! But like I said, this really isn't my preferred genre to read. I'm sure that for the science fiction lovers out there this will be right up their alley. A really good 3.5 star read all the same :]

  • Vultar's Heart, Body and Soul Mate Part 1 on Oct. 12, 2011

I have to say that this book is not my usual reading material. I don't usually go for stories that involve alien races that are trying for what ever reason to intermingle with us mere humans. That being said, I was intrigued by the 'mind speaking' and 'healing qualities' that these strange beings had. The writing flowed easily and as the story progressed I found myself caught in in this strange tale, enough so that I went ahead and purchased part 2 in this series. An interesting 3 Star read :]
  • Vultar's Heart, Body and Soul Mate Part 2 on Oct. 12, 2011

Okay, Part 2 was intriguing, thrilling, suspenseful, fun, mind boggling, different-hang on let me get my thesaurus!! I loved Part 2 in this exceptionally different tale. So much so I'm eager to purchase both Parts 3 & 4. I literally felt light headed after reading this, I swear I held my breath for most of it. Zoctornyia (both parts) has been the most surprising read I think I've stumbled upon all year. I would highly recommend this series to everyone, even if its not your usual read. You may well be very pleasantly surprised just I have have been. An intriguingly thrilling 5 Star read ~
  • Crossover 'The Chosen One Trilogy: Book One' on Feb. 28, 2012

I wasnt sure if this book would be my cup of tea or not. But it would seem that my cup of tea has been doing a lot of changing just recently. This is not your average romance, nor is it an ordinary fantasy novel. The tale that the author has woven is a totally engrossing one. Not only is it filled with an imaginative and colourful world but the characters are unique and intriguing. A lot of effort has been put into the world building and back stories for Crossover. The descriptions are rich, the characters are extremely likeable, and the relationships are believable. The twists and turns are exciting and the sparks that fly in and out of the bedroom between Hayden and Jasper are a refreshingly real take on a relationship (God knows relationships are never perfect!!) I have thoroughly enjoyed the first book of this series and am looking forward to reading the next installment. An enticing 4 Star read ;]
  • Pure Blood (Time Spirit Trilogy, #3) on May 07, 2012

I will try my best not to ramble on but... I can not tell you how much I absolutely, completely, utterly, adored this book. I even sent the author a rather embarrassing, super hyped, "OMG I loved it so much" raving fangirl email!! But oh-my-gosh I have. I have seriously fallen in love with this entire series. As with the previous two books in the Time Spirit trilogy, author Melissa Pearl has woven a completely engrossing tale of Gemma and Harrison's love, dastardly acts of murder and betrayal, and an ever-changing future for our time travelling heroine that I have again, eagerly devoured in one sitting. The emotional and extremely additive story with its constant twists and turns has kept me on the edge of my seat, gasping in shock, squeeeing gleefully with happiness, and I hesitate to admit - had me crying like a baby! *note* tissues are a must! While I am sad that this is the last we will see of Gemma and Harrison, this captivating story has come full circle, ending with the most perfect and satisfying HEA I could of ever hoped for. It was simply beautiful. I can not wait to see what this exceptionally talented author has up her sleeve next because the Time Spirit trilogy has been one of the best YA series I have read, ever. 5 Stars+
