Cage, who has been running competitively most of his life, describes the joy of running marathons. He relates how the average person, including himself, will not ever see a trophy, however, just finishing a marathon is an accomplishment and the author describes what it is like. You'll enjoy this short story if you run long-distance races ... even if you don't!
