Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Gelligaer, where the story begins. I guess this has influenced my feelings toward the characters, knowing their surroundings and able to visualise their setting in a different era with added realism. Given me a new perspective on my home village, making it more special.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
I love books with mystery, adventure and complicated plots with great characters. The thrill of engagement with the characters, a real page turner of events that keeps you guessing until the end. Only to get to the end the plot thickens and the shock that it didn't quite end as you imagined it would.
