I liked this! It was intriguing. Though the part about the writer using some kind of wood chopping hammer and easily splitting a log into four perfect pieces of kindling the first time she used it made me think that the author had never chopped wood before... so it was a bit distracting because the incongruity made it hard to stay absorbed in the story. Otherwise very intriguing and mysterious.
