Paul Palul Rideout
PALUL could be called a Renaissance Man. He has balanced art and science for 74 years. He has worked in laboratories across the country and simultaneously created a body of art work that illustrates his maturation as an artist and a person. His book, VISION-QUEST: A SAGA OF THE SIXTIES (coming soon), shows the complex growth of a young man trying to find himself.
Paul PALUL Rideout is considered a MASTER CERAMIC ARTIST and currently lives in Redding, CA with his wife, Allison and an eighteen-pound cat named Spaz. Besides writing, his interests include art, teaching, chemistry, gardening and philosophy.
Palul: The need to create is a natural instinct for man. I try to find and explore those qualities that have a common human appeal, universal ideas and symbols that transcend time, languages, locations and cultures. I am fortunate to have found a medium (clay) that brings my passions for art and science together. Like the clay itself, I expect my ceramic pieces to last thousands of years.

His wandering pits the logic of his scientific background against an uncontrollable urge of the artist within. The artist is trying to get free to find and express an uncertain meaning in life.
This is a basic book on the Raku process, a fast-firing technique popular with ceramic artists and collectors world-wide.
