First off, who am I?

I am a transgender woman--Meryl S. Fortney (formerly known as Ryan S. Fortney)

Behind all of this, I started writing around the age of 21. I've always had this crazy imagination since I was a kid. When I got to that point of my life, I decided it was time to put it to some use. Whether it's good or bad use, is totally up to you, my readers.

As for what I'm working on - The Pax Series - I'll be finished with it in maybe five years or so. The idea is the apocalypse, taken about ten steps further than I've ever seen it taken in other forms of media. And then of course I already have handfuls of ideas for other stories.

PaxCorpus is my baby. My child. With it, I intend on crafting, hopefully, one of the largest fictional universes ever imagined. What you see and what you read of PaxCorpus and Escape Velocity is only the beginning. The tip of the iceberg.

Aside from that, I'd just like to say that it was a strange feeling, waking up one day no longer a "budding writer" with a dream, but an author with multiple dreams. Things kind of catches up with you if you never stop and turn around for a bit.

Smashwords Interview

How do you approach cover design?
I don't approach it at all, actually. I have a friend who designs each cover I propose with details that I give.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
My favorite book of all time is The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

I am a science fiction nerd. I love it, I live it and to me, this is the epitome of scifi.

But I've always enjoyed books such as, Fight Club, A Galaxy Unknown, Darkly Dreaming Dexter, Invisible Monsters and so on and so forth.

The only stipulation I have about this story is that it's too short! The minute I started reading I was pulled in. Joshua reminds me of myself and one of my biggest fantasies: meeting a woman from another world and having her all to myself. The way you introduced her, I immediately wanted her as much as J did. But then, in a flash, about as quick as she was introduced, she was gone. I felt that I missed her as much as Josh did. Please make this story longer, or continue it. If you have, I'm going to go look through your catalogue right now. I loved this story and it hurt to end it so abruptly.
