Last March, when I heard the news of an 8.9 (some reports placed it at 9.2) earthquake and seven meter tall tsunami hitting northern Japan near Honshu, my first thought was concern for my daughter-in-law’s relatives. Her father lives in Tokyo, but she has aunts and a grandparent in Osaka in northern Japan. I know very little about Japanese geography.
