I'm not much of a mystery reader. Often when I do read one, I'll wind up tossing it aside after a few chapters as it doesn't really catch my interest. Well, this book was definitely different. It actually had me wanting to know what was going to happen next, and how various things tied together. Zada dropped what were some fairly obvious clues to some things, or at least I THOUGHT she had! By time I finished the book I found that I was right about a couple things, but very wrong on others. For a first effort, this is a good book. It'll be interesting to see what else she has in store for Alexandra and her team in the future. I may have actually found a mystery series I'll want to follow. (Not to mention wondering what the heck she may wind up doing with the cliff hanger ending!) Fair disclosure time tho. Zada is a personal friend, so I did give this book more of a chance than I might have otherwise. All the same, Zada and I have known each other long enough that we're pretty straight with each other, so she knows that I'd say if it wasn't all that great a book or needed improvement. If mysteries are your thing, this is definitely worth reading!

Ahhh Christmas, a time of sweetness, good will toward men, and all that stuff. Well, if that's what you want from a Christmas story, GO AWAY!! You won't find it here! This trio of stories looks at the darker side of things. First up is a vampire that gets caught in a situation he'd rather not be in. Then there's a game show with some unusual contestants. Finally, a woman with an ability most of us don't have. All the stories are short, so they make for a quick read. If you enjoy quirky stories and twist endings, you'll definitely enjoy these. You're sure to get a chuckle from how things turn out.

An interesting collection of five stories, all with a twist to them. While I enjoyed them all, my favorite would be the final story called "The Will", with the story called "A High Level Of Achievement" coming in a close second. None of the stories are very long, so they're all a fast read. If you enjoy stories that are "offbeat", you're sure to enjoy these stories.
