Houston Smith and Iris Peters detectives, the main characters in this book are working through their personal problems while trying to apprehend the perpetrator of fairly gory deaths of individuals from different religions. He married/new house/baby on the way is trying to prove himself as a new detective while Iris, already a competent detective, has the burden of looking after her dying husband. The book grips from the start with good crisp vivid descriptive narrative (easy to visualise characters/places). The religious side isn't heavy, just cultural information adding 'meat' to the bones of the story.
Kept me guessing to the beliveable end. Managed to complete in a day. Nelson Clark has gone on my author list
- Nashoga: Book 1 of the Redstone Series

A story of wildlife love, loss, friendship and adventure, made all the better because of Nashoga telling it in his own wolf-like manner. A very enjoyable read finished easily within a day.

Lots of bad language, violence (sometimes gratuitous), sex and unnerving scenarios - used in the right context and well-worded - for me brought the characters good, bad and downright crazy, very much to life. A completely unexpected twist at the end made this a very enjoyable read.

Entertaining read (until the end), realistic dialogue, easy to follow plot and comfortably read within a couple of days. Whilst the main part of the book was worth 4 stars the ending was a real disappointment - to me it felt as if the author had stopped to make a coffee but never returned! The ending was so abrupt I thought my Kindle 'page turn' button had stopped working, surely there should be another page at least - alas not!

A very comfy 2hr read, characters fairly well plotted (particularly liked Ned Kelly the Headmaster), storyline sometimes o.t.t, but all in all a good read and I would be happy to try this author again.
