Smashwords book reviews by Virginia Kass

  • The Second Book of Dreams: Meridian on July 24, 2011

The series definitely has a different slant on the dream world. I enjoyed the second book as much as the first one and am definitely looking forward to another in the series.
  • Death of a Dumb Bunny (A Chloe Boston Mystery Book 7) on July 24, 2011

I continue to enjoy this series. Nice light read.
  • Big Bones (A Butterscotch Jones Mystery Book 2) on July 24, 2011

Definitely a short story but what an enjoyable short story. I love Butterscotch & get a kick out the other characters in this series.
  • Stardom Can Be Murder: Charlie Parker Mystery #12 on July 24, 2011

I absolutely love the Charlie Parker mysteries & have read every one of them. I would put them in the cozy mystery genre so they are not for the person who likes intense or gorey mysteries..
  • Absolute Liability (Southern Fraud Thriller 1), J. W. Becton on July 24, 2011

MORE !!!! A great start to a new series. Only objection is the cover did not fit this serious mystery.
  • I'm Kind of A Zombie on Aug. 01, 2011

An amusing short read. I'll be interested in seeing what is next for Alex. I have to say this short story has a bit of a different twist on Zombies.
  • Lethal Blossom on Oct. 29, 2011

Please hurry & write another book about Lena, Grimini,& Val. I really hated for the book to end because I loved the characters so much. The storyline was pretty good too. ;o)
  • The Human Side of a Zombie on Dec. 04, 2011

First off I will say I'm not in the target audience for this book. I'm 63. I loved the first book, but this one didn't do it for me. I felt this book had places to go but didn't quite get there. I wanted to get to know the characters more & for it to be a bit longer. The idea of Alex is such a new twist on zombies & want more of this world. Andrew has said he has more ideas for this world & I eagerly look forward to seeing more about this kind of zombie.
  • On Deadly Tides (A Wendover House Mystery Book 3) on April 15, 2012

I enjoy all of Melanie Jackson's books. The novella's are a nice read before bed. Sometimes I wish they were longer though & this was one of them.
  • Strata Florida-A tale of the Grail on June 09, 2012

I did receive an advanced copy of Strata Florida from the author. I enjoyed it so much that when he published it I bought the final version from smashwords. Historical fiction is not normally a genre I am interested in reading but after a bit of a slow start for me (I know I was resisting reading the genre), I started enjoying it so much I could not put it down. I stayed up late reading it. I learned history about the closings of abbeys in England & Wales during the reign of Henry VIII I hadn't known. The history was great but even better were the characters. I ended up loving Brother Enoch & Sister Brigitte. I would love to know if there are any further adventures with these two & Brother Reynard becuase if there are I'm buying the book..
