Dr. Clifford E. Daugherty
Author: Dr. Clifford Daugherty joined Valley Christian Schools in San Jose, CA as President/Superintendent in July 1986. Under his leadership, VCS has nearly tripled its enrollment and constructed permanent facilities for all three campuses valued at approximately $100,000,000. Dr. Daugherty previously served as headmaster at various Christian schools. He is the founder of the Quest Institute for Quality Education and President of Neighborhood Christian Preschools in Silicon Valley. He was also Founding Principal at Los Altos Christian School in Los Altos, California and the Santa Clara County Christian School Association. Dr. Daugherty is the author of Quest for Excellence. He and his wife Kris have two children and four grandchildren.

Illustrator: Jill Marie Carlson began to develop her creative abilities and passion for art and design as a high school student in Elk Grove, CA. This passion led her to the University of California at Davis where she earned a degree in Fine Art. She went on to earn a master’s degree in Illustration from The Academy of Art University in San Francisco, CA. Jill is currently working as a freelance illustrator in San Jose, CA where she is also blessed to instruct art to elementary and high school students at Valley Christian Schools.
