I have to say, this is truly one of my most favorite books. I am a fan of vampire stories. I also love historical fiction and reading about the real prince Vlad Dracula. This book was compelling, and captured my imagination. I love the way Christine described the lifestyles and cultures of Walachia and the automon empire, but most of all, she saw through this man, who everyone else portrays as a monster. I also enjoyed the other characters as well. They helped to bring the story to life. I liked reading about how vlad eventually became the legendary dracula, the vampire. I can't tell you how much I love this book. It kept me in suspense the entire time I read it. I highly recommend this wonderful story to all fans of vampire books and other people, like myself, who enjoy reading about the real romanian prince and are interested in learning about his life and the times he lived in.
