Rachel Amphlett

Biography

I have previously worked in the legal and economic publishing industry in the UK, and had undertaken several publishing specific courses at Oxford John Brookes University.

A member of Queensland Writer’s Centre since 2009, I undertook some of their courses to redevelop my craft. These provided me with the skills and dedication to return to writing and led to publication success both in Australia and the United Kingdom with my short stories.

My debut thriller, 'White Gold' is available in all ebook formats provided by the team at Smashwords. You can read the entire first chapter for free via my website, www.rachelamphlett.com

A sequel is currently being researched, while a further novel is in early draft stage.

I moved to Australia from the United Kingdom in 2005 and live in Queensland with my partner, Nick, and our two dogs.

This book was recommended to me by another author, and it's now a firm favourite on my research shelf. The way the author analyses popular films and explains how to apply the same techniques to writing a novel are invaluable - just being able to visualise each section makes an enormous difference. Whether you're writing your first novel or have several works under your belt, this book is well worth the investment.
