Raymond J Brune

Biography

Ray once asked co-worker and now WCBS anchorwoman Dana Tyler, "Dana, what are we going to do with our lives?" She replied, "Well, we start with a double box, then take the remote full and close again on a double box." Ray replied, "No! Not our live shots...our lives!" It was then he realized he would have to write books about the TV news experience.

At last count, Raymond J Brune has produced more than 15,000 hours of live network, syndicated, cable, local and web television. With a mantle full of Emmys and various other broadcasting awards, Ray is a proven game changer in the genres of news, talk, reality, & sports TV.

Ray's success in morning TV is unmatched. He's Executive Produced "Good Morning America", "World News Now", "Eye Opener" and was the creator and showrunner of the original "KTLA Morning News", a Los Angeles morning monster that became the highest-rated local morning show - ever - and spawned countless copy-cat shows across the world. Ray was also VP of News at E! Networks and VP at Fox Sports where he started-up the TV Guide horse racing network TVG. Ray's had success in prime time as well with "Lisa Williams: Life Among The Dead" for Lifetime, "Second Verdict" for NBC/PAX and "Merv Griffin's Crosswords" in worldwide syndication. Ray's first TV job was producing anchorman Jerry Springer at the NBC affiliate in Cincinnati, when both of them were just starting their TV careers.

When he's not in a TV control room, or writing in front of his laptop, Ray is writing and recording songs, playing with his German Shepherds or watching some cheesy made-for-tv movie from the '70's. He's an avid marksman and once took a disco dancing class with his sister. He splits his time between homes in Los Angeles and Cincinnati.
