Wow! This is a little bit creepy. I live near Dartmoor in the United Kingdom and I'm not sure I want to go up on the moor alone again after reading this.
The author holds you gripped all the way through and even in so few words, I feel like I know the main character.
I thoroughly enjoyed this and greatly recommend it to anyone interested paranormal or spokey stories.
If you want to get inside the heads of those modern society considers 'Different' this is certainly well worth a ead. I'm not sure to describe this book as good is the right word, enlightening is perhaps closer to the mark.
Personally, I have no experience of any of the issues mentioned in this book, but having my own disability made it posible to connect with some of the emotions presented in these stories.
The reason I give this 4 stars and total the maximum of 5 is simple, I wish the book had been a little longer, but also that there had been some form of contents page, so I could have seen what I was expecting right from the start.
These quibbles aside, its a great collection of very short stories with some deep themes.
Absolutely the best in the series to date. If you like action packed scene, chopped up with believable character banter its a must read. Oh, also there's love to be had. This book is an absolutely perect mix of excitement, loytlty love and friendship.
I have already read this twice and intend to read it many more times before the final book in the series is released.
This book is better than many traditional print book of this type I have read.
Love it, Lindsay, please give us book 6 ASAP!
This is not my favourite short story in this series, however its still a five star masterpiece. It gives a great introduction to the characters, if you are new to the series and a taste of some of the small adventres that don't make it into the larger books in the series.
An action-packec addition to an already great series.
The first three books in this series were already great, Conspiracy takes it to a whole new level, though. The plot thicks, the stakes are higher and the rewards greater, bt still the characters remain as believable as ever.
A great story!
I am not usually a reader of books like this, however the fact that I read it from beginning to end in one weekend shows that it definitely holds the attention.
In addition to this, the book raises some interesting issues as to how humanit and sceience view the world.
However, the book felt like it needed a little more editing. I won't denny that in places its not easy to work out what's going on. The occasional shift between present and past tense, first and third person for the primary character often left me feeling a little disorientated.
That said, this book is still well-worth the read even for those like me that are not regular readers of this kind of book.
Yet another entising reading from one of my favourite authors. It has all the halmarks of her writing, fast-paced, strong characters, dialog which I can almost hear and the inability to put the story down until the fine full-stop.
As ever, my only criticism, is that the book is too short. I look forward to Decrypted and the excitement of a new novel which again, I will read in 24 hours or less!
It's wonderful to have even more backstory and information about this fantasy world that I love.
This short but entracing story tells the tale from the angle of a character this world has not seen inside the head of before.
All in all, well worth a read.
A great short story from the Emperor's Edge universe. This story gives an extra level of realism to all of Lindsay's works.
Including characters from the Emperor's Edge series this is a superb look inside the history of the world's most infamous assassin.
Great book and worth a lot more than FREE!
A follow-up story continuing to track two very liable characters. Decrypted expanded on the relationships introducing in the prequal, Encrypted.
Durring this spell-binding pages, we learn more about the history of this stream-driven world and discover that, just because a people are peaceful, there's always something beneath the surface.
Wow! I can not give this book high enough praise. It has everything I have come to love Lindsay's work for: realistic dialogue, fast-paced action and most of all, a sleepless night on sleep day as I read it cover to cover.
I have been looking forward to this book's release since the previous, shorter, novella released earlier this year and it does not disappoint.
Amazing work, Lindsay. I can't wait for the second half. I wish Smashwords let me give this more than five stars, it desserves it.
This is one of the best books of this type I have ever read and that includes so-called tradition authors.
'Matt Archery: Legend' the third book in this series takes the characters and plot to a whole new level. Between Matt's unique way of telling the story, making you feel like you're there, the dialogue which feels a good deal more natural than in its preducessors, the action packed story line and the sudden twists (some foreseeable, others not) this is a book that does not want to let its reader go and will leave you screaming at the author for the next installment.
If I could give this book more than five stars, I would. It completely deserves it.
As the first book in a series, 'Matt Archer: Monster Hunter' does not hang around before plunging the main characters, and the reader, into the action.
Writen through the eyes of the main character, Matt Archer, the book feels across between a diary and a story time. The narrative reflects how Matt thinks and sees others and never stops to catch its breath.
From Montana in the US to Peru, the plot introduces us to huge raft of characters, each of whom is weel-defined, believable and instantly knowable.
This book will leave you hungry to buy the next installment and desperate to know more.
A short story which continues the Matt Archer story-line.
Although much shorter than the full-length works in this series, 'Matt Archer: Monster Summer' is complete with its own plot twists and fast-paced action.
Although I would not necessrily recommend this at an introduction to the series, it is a must-read if you enjoy the first in the series and wish to follow every move these amazing characters make.
Book 2 in the Matt Archer series sees Matt start to grew up. His view on the world matures and so does the plot-line.
'Blade's Edge' begins to explore the war in greater depth. We also learn more about all of the favourite characters. Between the stress of love, a super-natural war and homework, Matt Archer reveals new depths to himself.
Potions of this book made me cry, whilst other made me laugh even on the second, third and fourth readings, the enjoyment favtor does not deminish.
A great read!
