- Cupid's Apprentice

This was such a sweet, well-written story. Great for a quick romantic fix. Both characters were really likeable and Ms Hendricks created enough of a back story for to understand why they were like they were, which is often missed out in novella length stories. Laura has been hurt in the past and keeps herself to herself while Flynn is friendly and outgoing, but ready to settle down - a mindset that you understand after meeting is large, loving family.
Though this is a fairly short story, it is well paced and their relationship played out fairly slowly with the help of cupid apprentice 'Dar'. This wasn't a tale of instant lust but more building chemistry and sweet romance. When they end up snowed in in a wood cabin for the night, Flynn is wonderfully chivalrous and the interactions between them are enough to melt the coldest of hearts.
My only complaint was the ending. It was lovely but it felt a little quick compared to the steady pace of the rest of the book. Laura is going to confront her past with the aid of Flynn but we don't see what happens and I guess I would have liked to have had more of a 'moment' with Flynn and Laura - perhaps a few more sweet scenes like the cabin one. BUT this is mostly because I adored them and didn't really want to leave them.
This is a great, sweet romance with a little added twist in the form of the cupid apprentice which added nice little touches of humour. It will appeal to those who love well-rounded characters and clean romance.

This was a well-written, sensual story that made great work of all the senses. It starts with Ares and Aphrodite in a very erotic scene which we find out is being filmed. As a punishment, these Gods have been put into human form and now they are doing what they do best to survive - sex!
This story will appeal to those who like their erotica sensual and well-edited. This is not particularly hardcore and you won't find crude words used - every word has a very flowing, beautiful feel.
While the scenes were very hot, I'd have liked more story behind them. It essentially went through three scenes which I felt could have had more of a story behind them. We come in on them having sex and then pretty much go through the motions into the next two scenes. There is one revelation but not a lot else happens. I think there was some potential here that was missed.
But if you just want your erotica sexy and sensual and aren't worried about a story, then this is for you.

This is very tongue in cheek, well-written and interesting. If you're after a quick slice of erotica then this is probably not for you, but if you're open-minded and after something a little humorous, quite raw and erotic, then I'd say go for it.
It took me a little while to adjust to all the different words used - the men all had names like 'New Man' and 'Almost Man' and they had a little fun with names like 'Sweet Ass'! Once I got used to the idea of these name, then it was fine but I did have to read twice occasionally to make sure I knew who was doing what.
The author obviously has some skill in inventing an entirely new world and if you're into a bit of everything, then this book delivers this. I would love to see the author do some more traditional erotica, more to see what they would do with it than anything!
