Scott Burkhead


Biography

Scott Burkhead has written three novels and several short stories. During the past few years his work has appeared in a number of small literary magazines. Recently, he was a finalist in the William Faulkner Literary Contest. Another story made finalist in the Biennial Greensboro Awards for Short Fiction. Scott is currently Managing Partner for Burkhead Brand Consultants, and was a founder of Rockett Burkhead and Winslow, one of the largest Advertising agencies in the mid-Atlantic region. He studied theatre at San Diego State University, and attended the University of Missouri at Kansas City, MFA program. Additionally, he spent four years in anti-submarine warfare work as a Navy enlisted man, worked as a short-order cook, sold alarm systems, and went hungry for two years as an actor. Scott lives in North Carolina with his wife Maggie and likes to write stories, walk on the beach, solve marketing problems and drive old cars.
