Biography

Matthew Callan covers the Mets for AmazinAvenue.com, and was featured in the 2011 edition of the Amazin’ Avenue Annual alongside such prominent sportswriters as Joe Posnanski and Will Leitch. He is the former editor of MSN Sports Filter, and a former contributing writer to the New York Press. His humorous commentaries have been heard on NPR, and his humor (and humor-related) writing have been seen at McSweeneys.net and Splitsider.com. He was also a contributor to Excelsior, You Fathead: The Art and Enigma of Jean Shepherd, a biography of the legendary radio monologist, and was featured in the 2003 edition of Dave Eggers’ Best American Nonrequired Reading. He performs frequently at readings in the New York area and blogs daily at Scratchbomb.com.
