Although this novel is about witchcraft, there is no hocus pocus in its pages. It is full of cold realism which is lightened by dark humour, however it ends up being just as, if not more enthralling than any fanciful fiction. By bringing together such curiosities as grimoires, witch trials and more, this historical thriller come dark comedy will prove an intrigue.
Misery tales and fables    by Christian Zajdek
Price: Free! 73460 words. Published on April 6, 2010. Fiction.

The 43 tales, short stories, fairy tales and fables collated in this book deal with issues relevant to modern living, but coats them in quaint fantasy. Issues covered range from drug addiction, self harming and depression, to nihilism, the negative effects of knowledge and the unforgiving dog eat dog nature of capitalism. As such the tales end bleakly almost as often as they end with smiles.
