Biography

S.M Ferrin is a freelance writer who loves to dream of different worlds. If she isn’t diving into a good book, she’s contemplating one of her own. With several short stories published, she decided it was time to complete her first contemporary fantasy novel. She is an educator at heart and by trade, it is her passion to inspire young minds through imagination and expanding their horizons. In her free time she escapes to the beautiful mountains of Northern Colorado. She loves yoga, hiking, biking, climbing, gardening, soaking in the sun, and just getting lost in thought.

Describe your desk
My desk has lots of pens, paper, tons of books, and of course my trusty laptop. I know the art of research through books is lost, but I still love having several volumes opened, scanning for information and ideas.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
My childhood is an interesting story in of itself and perhaps someday I'll write a book about it. But to answer the question, I attribute my childhood years to Wisconsin, Colorado, and Montana. I spent my time outside, running the neighborhoods, mountain trails, and country trails. I spent a lot of time on my own as a kid and so I utilized my imagination to keep myself entertained. Even to this day I have an overactive imagination.
