Born and raised in the Portland, Oregon Metropolitan area, Shauna spent her early working years in banking as an Accountant and Human Resource Manager. Listening to the vivid stories of her co-workers and the continual drama surrounding their lives, Shauna got the idea to write about her own crazy surroundings and to highlight that "LIFE IS FUNNY!" Shauna is happily married to an Army Major and Portland Police Officer (which lots of good stuff comes from him) and has a 12-year old son (and even more good stuff comes from him).

Shauna studied accounting and creative writing at Arizona State University and graduated in 1990. Even though she dove into accounting for 18 years, she could not escape the allure of storytelling and jumped-ship from number crunching & Excel spreadsheets and began writing & making people laugh. Once she began typing, she never stopped.
