  • Rising on Dec. 22, 2012

“Rising” has become one of my favorite books. The book is interesting and clearly written. The characters are believable and the way the powers of the heroes complement each other is innovative. Being fan of Percy Jackson I can’t help comparing rising with “Heroes of Olympus “ though they are totaly different they have something in common bunch of teenagers with deferent powers and personalities coming together to save the world from an ancient evil. The story of rising is told alternatively from Gabe and Clara’s point of view .In the beginning of the story both have a normal school life and keep their power hidden. As the story progresses the world is threatened by invasion of dark creatures and their power grows .Soon they realize they and their friends have power to stop them .They face the enemy while coping with great personal loss.
  • The White Lilac on Jan. 14, 2013

I would categorize “The white Lilac” as science fiction drama with a bit of mystery rather than as dystopian novel . The novel follows Caryn and Kai as their paths cross when they have to take very important decisions in their life especially Caryn since her choice will decide whether a lot of people will live or die. The novel begins with Caryn preparing for the test the winner of which will have to collect the cure for poison affecting humans and will die in the process. She has been workings hard for the day and does well, unexpectedly she is given a chance to live life outside the lab with all privileges available for three days. Kai is street kid who has avoided getting in trouble by keeping low profile. Suddenly he is dragged by a gangster and is asked to steel a diamond in exchange for his life and the secrets of his life. Their paths cross and they spend the three days together. They influence each other even as Caryn learns secrets that make her question her faith in what she has been taught .She has to make a choice which will affect a lot of lives whatever she chooses .As she is crushed by the morality of her choice their bond grows giving new promises. The story is set a colonial planet called beta earth which has two suns.
  • Ties To The Blood Moon on April 06, 2013

The story of "Ties to the blood moon" is interesting and held by attention till the end.The concept of werewolf/vampire hybrid is interesting. But I couldn't relate with Gen's love with William and Joseph. The story-line has lot of similarities to Twilight. And there is a twist in the end that I didn't see coming. The story of "Tie to the blood moon" follows Gen as she moves to her Aunt's home in Alaska after the death of her mother. There she makes new friends and after some events gets entangled in local myths and realize she is an werewolf princess who is supposed to unite the different clans which are at war.As the story progress she find that her mother is alive and makes a quest to claim the throne and save her mother. A lot of things are left unexplained like how she gets visions when she touch things
  • Shadow of the Blood Moon on May 01, 2013

I liked the story of "Shadow of Blood moon" minus the romance part I still couldn't like the love triangle.Gen is flawed but in some ways that make the book distinct she is brave but doesn't know her limits or the consequence of her actions ,quick tempered and not the smartest of the group but manages to patch tings up and leads the team in their quest to save her mother. There are some serious twists and a special new character that was unexpected,Over all the story is quite entertaining. The story follows Gen as she and William come the Prague to find her mother. the quest descends into chaos the very day they set foot in Prague. She tries to find her mother and survive Prague with help of the usual gang and a hand-full of new characters. I wish to read the next book for the story of the princess and clan wars rather than the love triangle
