Anne Marie McEwan

Biography

I work with businesses and individual people to help them to develop fit-for-the-future skills through social learning - you do a practical work project or other practical activities and learn from the experience. This is about learning as exploring, discovering, sharing, experimenting and co-creating.

While there's nothing new about this way of learning, one of the most phenomenal applications of social technologies is how they are being used to transform learning - as conversation and active, connected, co-created and shared experience rather than traditional courses. Social technologies connect us to people inside and outside of organisational boundaries, giving us access to phenomenal opportunities for acquiring new skills and knowledge.

I help individuals to take advantage of these new learning opportunities, showing them how to think about what specific skills they will need as they move into the future and then helping them to design their own customised 'curriculum'. I also help businesses to create learning cultures and environments that let people develop skills and capabilities - for their own satisfaction and for the good of the business.
