Tower of Parlen Min sounded like a book full of fantasy, excitement and mystery but there is a lot more than what the synopsis hints. Although the beginning was sort of slow for me and I struggled to keep my attention on the story, I realized later in the book that it was needed to set the background and bases of Ves' world. Once he gets to the Tower of Parlen Min, the pace is faster and full of action and adventure that doesn't stop until the very end of the book. There are several things going on that keep the characters and the reader busy. First, there's the visit to the Tower of Parlen Min and the Sword Challenge worth 12 million dollars set up by Jacobious Trent. This is one of the parts of the book that I enjoyed the most. The challenges were very creative and intense, and it was a lot of fun reading them. Then there's the mystery of a serial killer that's been lurking around town. This is a real puzzle and there are hints here and there that will only make sense when the truth is discovered. And finally, there's a secret surrounding Ves himself that I won't say much about because I don't want to ruin the surprise. The fantasy and magic elements of the story were my favorite part and I think they really set the book apart form others. They were all highly imaginative, especially the creatures. There are a lot of myths and stories about them that make for a really interesting and different kind of story. All in all, Tower of Parlen Min is a very entertaining and unique story. It is full of adventure, action, magic and mystery. I definitely look forward to reading more of Ves' adventures in future books.
