As always, Brendan Carroll comes through in this latest book in The Red Cross of Gold: Assassin Chronicles. This story keeps you on the edge of your seat, waiting to find out what's going to happen next. If you haven't read this series yet, and enjoy fantasy, romance, and science fiction, along with a fascinating interpretation of a mix of religions thrown in, you don't know WHAT you are MISSING!
Fantastic read and the saga continues. Mark Andrew continues to mystify me (being split into different individuals is a bit confusing, yet fun!) as do the other characters in this book. I have to say that the most "evolved" character, in my humble opinion, is Selwig, and I am very impressed (I really like the little Tuathan Healer) :o) Some things are made clearer in The Centaur, while other things leave more questions. Still, all in all, a great story. Now the wait for Book XXIX is upon us. I think once the series is complete, I will read from the first book all the way through to the end to pull it all together in my head. If you haven't read this series yet, and enjoy fantasy, romance, and science fiction, along with a fascinating interpretation of a mix of religions thrown in, you don't know WHAT you are MISSING!
In The Red Cross of Gold XXIX:. The Perfect Sun, more mysteries continue. Brendan Carroll weaves a fascinating story of supernatural chaos in the form of multiple mini-scenes, which revolve around a family reunion that Ereshkigal has decided to pull together. Just when you think the scenes are coming together, another "hitch in the road" appears, and you will have to wait for Book XXX before you learn more. If you enjoy fantasy, romance, science fiction, and the supernatural along with a fascinating interpretation of a mix of religions thrown in, you need to read this series.
What a joy it was to read Tyler's Story. Mireille Chester brings back the world of Quelondain, (first seen in her "The Chosen One Trilogy") this time for the YA reader. Her descriptive writing draws you into a world of shapeshifters and other beings, magic, and the relationship between a human and a Maj. It has moments of fear, heartbreak, anger, and love. A definite "must read"!
"While darklings ransack the city, Ree and her friends will learn the depth of the gods' manipulations. Unsure of who is really on their side, Ree must accept her destiny and assume the role of leader. The stakes are higher than they've ever been. Death is waiting for them in every shadowy corner. People will die, love will be tested, and the fate of the world will be decided--one way or the other.
No more running.
No more hiding.
The final battle is here.
The conclusion of the Dark Betrayal Trilogy"
I am so sad that this series is over, although it ended on a great note. I'll miss Ree, Paden, Rolland and the rest, but what a great ending :o)
