Stacie Cooper was born and raised in a beach community in southern California, where she currently resides with her husband and two adorable pups. She loves traveling, especially internationally, and has lived in both Spain and Costa Rica. She is a doctor of clinical psychology and worked in the field for eight years, mainly helping underprivileged adolescents and college students struggling with depression and eating/body image issues. However, she has always had a passion for writing and editing.
During graduate school, she published a dissertation and several articles, and she loved serving as an informal "editor" for her fellow students and colleagues. Thus, she took a chance in 2009 and decided to pursue a full-time career as a freelance writer and editor instead of becoming a licensed clinical psychologist. She is currently working on her second women's fiction novel, which will be entitled "Imperfect Hero" and closely related to the life of her grandmother who struggled with dementia in her final years.
