  • Light & Dark: The Awakening of the Mageknight on Dec. 27, 2012

I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review so here goes.... I really liked this book it was an interesting concept and although I had a few harry potter flashbacks at the beginning it was a very small portion that was alike. Elves, Dwarves, Wizards, Dragons, Swords and so many other things rolled into the old world charm that goes along with it made this a very fun and exciting read, also I must add the sword fighting was very good I don't know what it is but I love a good ol' sword fight :) Young Danny plays a card game called Knights but the game becomes very real when Sabrina Drake shows up at his school and Danny and his friends learn of the gift of sight and decide to become a knight of the Light. There is something big on the horizon but that helps Danny have many friends with him at his training I liked all the characters but Danny and Chris were my favorite they had a very strong friendship which I found very cute and I know that Chris will be a big part of the journey now faced by Danny and all the people of the Light. I liked the pace of this story it mived quickly but not to quick if that makes sense overall a very good book with an interesting concept that I am indeed invested in I look forward to the next installment. Thank you to the author for allowing me to read this book I was entertained and enjoyed the ride with these characters

I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review and I must say I really enjoyed this it was very different from things I have read in the past, it was fun and sweet but all the while there was an underlying doom and Caryn faced it with such grace I was very interested after the first few chapters. I liked how everything came together when Caryn and Kia met and they saved each other more than once I was glad to see them both grow and face a future they feared together and save many lives. as a science nerd I was impressed by all the research talk and DNA experiments that really kept my interest and I was pleased with how the author made it all come together. Thank you very much to the author for allowing me to read this awesome book I would recommend it to anyone looking for something new and fresh.

I was gifted this book from the author in exchange for and honest review so here it is. First of all I want to say that I loved this cover it really drew me in and I am such a sucker for a horse I just loved it, also since the horse really is in the book I must also say that I love a man on a horse :). When I started reading I thought that the different points of view jumping around would be confusing but it was done in such a way as to reveal small bits of information to the reader and I was not confused at all. I found the idea new and fresh and I was refreshed by the fact that it was different from so much I have read in the past and I really liked that. I liked Keira and her love interest Marco and I was rooting for them all the way to come together and defeat evil, but unlike many other books I have read I didn't feel a connection to any of the other characters, that being said I liked Keira's growth throughout the book she let a very painful event make her stronger and more determined instead of letting it beat her. There was a bit of a slow period for me but when Keira returned and plans were made I was sucked right back in. Overall I enjoyed this book and I would like to once again thank the author for the pleasure of reading her novel.

I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review This was a different idea for me and I liked it. But I must first get this one thing off my chest, I am sure that the main characters names was intended to be cute... well I did not like it, Calvin and Caledonia of Cal and Cal as they are called at the beginning which was changed to Cal and Cali but it also went back and forth so sometimes I was confused for a second, but now that I have said that I really did enjoy this book It was interesting to see Caledonia go from a wild girl in the woods to a city life and her discovery of all things modern, but when she gets closer to Calvin he learns just as much as he teaches. I was pleased to see their affection grew to love they were curious about each other at first and after spending time together and many cute moments, Caledonia lets down her guard a bit and after everything she had suffered I didn't blame her for being careful: "She feared heartbreak much more than she feared loneliness." And weaved in this adorable love story is Caledonia's past and why she was hidden in the woods, which was very cool and exciting and I don't want to spoil anything but trust me it is great and I was caught off guard, happy and little sad by the end and I am curious to see what happens next so I will be continuing this series. Now because I thought this was a really great part of the story I want to share this quote with you: " Like a light at the end if a tunnel, She had signaled a way out of the darkness that had become his life. She'd made him question his shiftless existence and want to be a better person. His grandmother had guessed right, she was the one, and he could never go back to the way he was before she came along." Overall this was a good read, thank you to the author for allowing me to read this book it is a fresh read for everyone.

I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review. I loved this book start, finish and everything in between. Not only was it heavy on the Greek mythology, which has always been of great interest to me, but it also had a very interesting different take on all the myths . This book had so much great stuff I don't really know were to start. okay let just say don't let the idea of the underworld and ghosts fool you, it may be a dark setting but this book was a great story of true love and finding yourself along the way even if the person you find is not what you expected. I went into the book thinking it was gonna be one thing and then the story became so much more complex and I became even more invested in the story and the fates of the characters. I'm usually not a huge fan of the love triangle but in this book it was my favorite aspect. Spencer is the devastated girl caught in the middle of the boyfriend she would risk the underworld for, and the devilishly handsome God of the dead. And not only did she have to different boys vying for her attention, I was glad to see Spencer find a way back to her friends she had shut out after Micah's death. Hadrian/Hades may be the God of the Underworld but send me down anytime, He is the tortured bad boy every girl thinks they can change, and somehow Spencer does get through to him, and in return he awakens something in her that died with Micah. I thought it made things so much more interesting that the one thing that could save Micah and bring them back together is also the one thing that has the ability to tear them apart. If you love Greek mythology then you should read this book. Great book with a great ending that left me wanting so much more I can not wait to read the next one and find out what happens next.
  • Storm of Blood (Storm Force #1) on Nov. 10, 2013

I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review! I loved the idea of this story, Demon Hunters controlled by a council of Elders and sent to vanquish the Monsters of the world with their lightning power. I was very happy that I read the prequel first it gave me a great look into Tina's triumphs and misfortunes that took place shortly before the events of this Novel, I really liked having that little bit extra while I read this one. This review may contain a few spoilers because I have so many feelings and I need to get them out so read at your own risk!! I was taken on a very emotional ride and a lot of it was for Tina, I felt very sorry for her after her punishment I believe she was doing the right thing, but I guess the council did not see it that way. I was also pleased with her because even after losing her power she still did her job to the best of her ability. I was also very frustrated with her when it came to Lachlan, I know she was under a spell but I thought she was stronger than that, I even put the book down it was only for a very short time but I was just so mad at her, I think the biggest reason was because of Ten I was so confused as to why she would just put him aside after everything they had been through Demon or not. When the shit really hit the fan, the Tina I knew and loved returned and I really enjoyed the action filled conclusion and I felt very satisfied with myself because I knew that Lachlan was not smart enough to carry all this out on his own, and the real mastermind was someone I had been very suspicious of for a long time. The whole blood magic thing was very neat and entertaining and I can't wait to see what the storm family will take on next, with so many demons out there both with and without treaties I can see the battle for peace has just begun. Ten had my heart in the prequel when he helped Tina save her friend, and since he is a shape shifter and shifted into a wolf then I was even more hooked. When he continued to help Tina and shifted into more fun things to show her a good time and even to save her I just fell in love, it also didn't hurt that he drove a motorcycle and wore a leather jacket. I can not wait to see what happens between him and Tina cause I have faith he will always be there for her like he promised. I loved every second of this book and I am so glad I read it!!!
