Summer Ellis

Biography

Here’s the thing - I kill people. Okay, not really. (No, really. I promise I don’t.)

Truthfully, the story of ‘me’ is a little exasperating at times. I’m a book whore. (I won’t lie - they’re mostly smutty romance novels. Hi, my name is Summer and I’m an addict.) I enjoy reading more than I enjoy writing, which is saying a lot.

I’m just like you, though - a regular person. I’m married, no children yet, and I live in a small town on the Gulf Coast of Texas.

I had no reason to believe I could write novels. Credentials: zip. Experience: nada. If there were a job application and interview process for this, I’d be the secretary behind the desk, taking in resumes. One day something happened, though. I downloaded a free romance by a self-published author. Why not, right? If it sucked - well, it was free.

It was like a light went on inside of me. The book was really decent; the author was a regular person - just like you and me - but she was an avid supporter of self-publishing. She opened the door for me, not that I’d write the next NY Times best-seller, but simply that I could write. It was something I’d always pictured some rumpled artist or educated trophy wife doing.

I started out writing erotic fiction short stories, and met three wonderful, talented writers - Ellison James, Brandie Buckwine, and TFC Parks - who helped me take what was in my head and put it to paper. Somewhere along the way I found myself writing in more bullets than blow jobs (although, I still give a great blow-ey, if I do say so myself), and now here I am.

With enthusiasm to spare, and half-decent grammar skills, I’m focusing on learning to write well. My pace could use some work, and my delivery can be really crappy, but I’m writing. It’s enough for now; the rest will come.

I quite liked it. I'm not much for anal myself, but the fun bit about streaking was the trix! Very good character development, I'm going to read more about Harold and Stacy...

VERY well written! I very much enjoyed this short story, although a little light on the erotic detail. Probably would do better to list it under another genre. Very good though!

Ok, please tell me you have a book on the way?! #1 great style, #2 the swing analogy was in a word: genious, and #3 clean writing style.

In a word: Wow. Great style... The only complaint I truely have is the double line spacing, which made it a little harder to read. Otherwise, nice job!

I loved these characters when they made their first appearance in E.J.'s book Lovestruck Succubus (they stole the book, IMHO), and I fell even more in love with them as their story unfolded here. Romance and suspense - this is one of those books I can read over and over, cuddled up in a blanket on rainy afternoons.

I'm so impressed with the way this story communicated a playful loving relationship along with that blatant and almost-violent edge of lust. (A lot of authors take it too far and characters either become selfish or abusive and degrading.) I’m always swept away by the concept and originality of Ellison James' ideas – stranded at pagan festivals, crazy bus rides, mixing business and painful pleasure - and this one didn’t disappoint. Great read ;)
