Surazeus Astarius

Biography

Surazeus is the nome de plume of Simon Seamount.

Simon has written about 7,200 poems since he began writing during college about 1986.

Simon Seamount was born in Oregon in 1964, raised in Texas 1969-1979, attended high school at Auburn Adventist Academy in Seattle area 1979-1983, then attended college in eastern Washington State, graduating from Washington State University in 1988 with a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts – Epic Historical Poetry. After living in Seattle for five years 1989-1994, he traveled across America with a guitar playing oral epic poetry and folk music, singing from Seattle to Colorado to Miami to Missouri and back west to San Diego.

During his career, Simon has worked as word processor and desktop publisher, expanding his skills as web designer in 1997. Simon worked for the State of Michigan as a web designer 1999-2004. Simon attended Michigan State University 2005-2008 and graduated 2 May 2008 with Magister Scientiae in Geographic Information Science. Simon lives in Georgia and works as a Geospatial Analyst Cartographer.

Simon wants to use his skills in Cartography and Poetry to create a dynamic interactive time-animated atlas of world history on a 3D globe of the Earth, which he calls Yartha Atlas of World History.

Simon married Endah Sulistyorini in Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia in 2000 and they now have two daughters, Saraswati Katrina and Athena Tamar.
