S. Woffington

S. Woffington grew up in Bakersfield, California, the daughter of a petroleum landman and a housewife. In 1979, she moved to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and quickly fell in love with the desert country and its people, both undergoing dramatic changes brought on by the oil boom. She later graduated from UC Irvine, where she completed the distinguished humanities honors program and won an award for having written the "most outstanding honors thesis." She then earned an MA in English and an MFA in Creative Writing from Chapman University. She currently resides in Southern California, where she works as a writer, teacher, and freelance editor. She still travels frequently, taking in the beauty of various cultures around the world.
