Biography

Taylor Lewis is the author of three published books so far with countless others in the process of edits and rewrites. After years of writing for personal entertainment, the author decided to bite the bullet and submit a manuscript to an online publisher where it was accepted. Two years later the author had gotten over the shock and circumstances forced a career change and so the bullet was bitten once more and the decision to become a fulltime writer was made. The flexibilty of being freelance means that Taylor can follow where the inspiration leads and doesn't have to confirm to one particular genre - as long as there's a happy ending somewhere then the author's happy to write whatever strikes their fancy! Taylor is the eldest of three children, the parent of one grown one and has the responsibilty of two (soon to be three) dogs and three cats. Home is a beautiful island in Scotland and the next item on the agenda is making all current and future works available in audio format as well as text.

What are your five favorite books, and why?
Most of my favourite books are from childhood and get read faithfully every year, but there are a couple of authors that get read religiously whenever new releases appear. The childhood favourites are 'Little Women', 'The Black Riders' by Violet Needham & any book in the James Herriott series. My must read authors are Terry Pratchett, J R Ward, Diana Gabaldon and Nora Roberts. They all come down to the common denominator of strong characterisation and dialogue. Although I love to write romance and adventure, I don't like to add prematurely forced intimacy, either emotional or physical. Having a strong story and characters to tell it is much more important to me than a love scene added just for the sake of it and I like to write scenes and character dialogue exchanges that make me laugh and engage with what I'm creating, something that all of the above writers have taught me.
What do you read for pleasure?
Anything and everything! I love paranormal romance, humour, adventure, boigraphies - whatever takes my fancy basically!
