In the first Great War, Winston Churchill was the First Lord of the Admiralty at 39. Confronted with the horrible stalemate of trench warfare in the Western Front, Winston devised a daring plan to open an Eastern Front by sending his navy to Constantinople through the Straits of the Dardanelles. The plan failed. Wounded Lion is the story of that adventure and its effect on Churchill's career.
