Thom Satterlee

Biography

I grew up in Canton, GA, and Batavia, NY, spent my junior year of high school in Denmark, and moved around quite a bit after college. My wife (Kathy) and I have lived in Bangor, Maine; Miami Beach, FL; Rogers, AR; Coral Gables, FL; and (currently) Marion, IN. We've traveled together to Colombia, Ecuador, Scotland, England, Denmark, Norway, Italy, and France. But we also enjoy staying home. She teaches Third Grade at a school just a mile from our house, and I used to teach at Taylor University, in nearby Upland. Since 2011, I've been a full-time writer. My books include poetry, fiction, and literary translation. In the years to come, I hope to continue writing in all three of these areas. At the moment, I'm concentrating on fiction.

This interview was conducted at Texas Tech University in connection with my book of poems, BURNING WYCLIF.
