Tony Mattey was born near Portsmouth, England, in February 1946, just nine months after VE (Victory in Europe) day to obviously passionate parents. In 1961, he joined the Royal Air Force. In 1970, he left to work in the computer industry, first with the Americans, and later with the British. In 1973, during the height of the Cold War, he accepted an assignment to travel to Poland behind the Iron Curtain. His activities took him into shipyards, manufacturing operations, banks and other Polish government establishments. He departed there in December 1977, and in 1978, he travelled to the Far East, and was based in Indonesia and later Singapore. Returning to the UK in 1984, he continued his relationship with the Americans, before moving into consulting in 1995, and eventually retiring in 2009.
Tony commenced writing this first novel, and found a new Passion to prevent boredom and going doolally. This has resulted in this first episode in the life of Harry Mellors. With his continuing passion, Tony already has a draft of the second episode.
