I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I especially liked seeing glimpses of Darcy and Elizabeth when they were younger. The author added her own twist to their personalities, but in my opinion, these traits were not out of character for Jane Austen's characters. While quite romantic at times, I appreciated that it didn't go into too much detail as some "alternatives" to Pride and Prejudice seem to do.
