Transgressive Fiction

Publisher info

Our tastes in ePublishing lean toward edgy, marginal writings that blatantly disregard the conventions of the Politically Correct hegemony.

Some of our writers deliberately seek to disturb the reader with scenes and descriptions that 'Transgress' the bounds of 'Good Taste' (whatever that may be) in ways that may shock the reader. This is meant to explore the individual aesthetic sense of the reader &-- possibly -- let them safely experience otherwise unthinkable scenarios.

For others, it is in the nature of a carnival funhouse or freak show. If you can't handle it don't read it.

We try to give readers what they want.

ePublishing is an ideal platform for transgressive fiction and genre fiction.
Please remember it is fiction. If some stories contain racist, sexist or other ignorant behaviors it is the CHARACTERS that are acting out and their actions are not necessarily endorsed by the authors or the publisher.

Irony is a wonderful thing. The utter cluelessness displayed by some of the characters that hold these attitudes is meant to promote laughter. Please do not take it too literally.

Generally speaking the work of Joe Brewster is lighter and more humorous than JD Kindle though less mainstream than our newest author Bix Gilford.

Have fun reading!

Added Profile 03/24/2011

I wrote the above profile at the start of our smashwords publishing. At the time we were planning to offer many different authors in various genres with the common element of being far from mainstream in their content.

Transgressive Fiction Publishing never got beyond Office FemDom. That's okay with us it is working out fine in terms of giving us focus but the name doesn't really fit. Sorry about that.

As a literary genre Transgressive or Transgressional fiction is more than a sex genre. Unfortunately we are now distributed across many platforms bearing that name. We briefly changed it but it caused confusion as the change did not migrate through the system. So for better or worse we are Transgressive Fiction. That's our name and we're sticking to it.

Author knows how to get right to the heart of things. Ergo creates dramatic (hot) images with few words and gets characters in conflict quickly-- keeps things moving. Good show!
