Katarzyna Tulak

Biography

Kasia Tulak is a certified teacher of physics. At the beginning of her teaching career in the school, to improve her teaching salary, she used to sew clothes on the machine. It was a lucrative activity which gave her a lot of joy. Afterwards, she used to work in retail and finally, because of the need to change occupation, she started working as the Health and Safety Inspector. Five years ago, when one of the members of her family got seriously ill and needed to be constantly taken care of, Kate gave up her work. From now on, it would only be possible for her to work at home. At that time, she decided to finish a floristic course. In search for inspiration, she began going to the floristic market each day in the morning. It is where she bought the first straw bases in order to decorate her own home. When Kate made her first wreath, her daughter Susana was very impressed with it and decided to list it on eBay. The wreath was sold right away and this is how the wreath frenzy began. Kate started selling her decorations in various on-line artistic galleries. Because of all the positive feedback, she discovered that she had artistic abilities. Wreath-making was now not only a joyful occupation but an unexpected job opportunity. In 2010, Kate’s daughter Susana, with the help of her boyfriend, created from scratch the wreath-centered website www.tulka.pl. Kate was regularly updating her blog and presenting the new wreath making ideas, what attracted lots of interested women (but not only!). At some point, it became obvious that she needs to have her own on-line store, so that it would be easy for the readers to buy all the necessary and well-checked materials for wreath making in one place.
Kate’s hobby became something much bigger than she ever thought it would and it helped her through the hard times. She met many wonderful and friendly people, with whom she was keeping in touch and exchanging e-mails. Finding out how very helpful the activity of wreath-making can be, she decided to write an e-book ‘How to make a wreath? 8 designs step-by-step’. Because Kate was also interested in photography, the photos included in e-book were instructive and beautiful. The e-book was a great success in Poland and so Kate decided to have it translated to English and introduce the wreaths to the broader market. Kate’s biggest passion was, is, and always will be her garden and being close to nature. That is why the Sunday walks in the forest with her two daughters Agata and Susana, the beagle and the bavarian mountain hound, belong to her all time favorite activities.
