Michael Funkhouser works in a salon in Santa Barbara California. Roles he has played are: Learning Leader Advisor, Education Leader, Cutting Specialist, Platform Artist, Long Hair Specialist, National Educator, Front Desk Leader, Daymaker and Ambasador for Paul Mitchel the School and John Paul Mitchell Systems. He is a graduate of The Cao Institute of Aesthetics and promotes education in any form. His lifelong belief that “Truth is where you find it” keeps him continuously striving to be the best that he can be.
All of that means nothing without this, the one thing that is most important to you, he does hair for a living, Michael Funkhouser is a successful hairstylist. It is glamorous and prestigious to do, be a guest artist and have all of those other job titles but if you don’t do hair or own a business, you can't teach about hair or owning a business.
Michael lives the day to day life of a hairdresser. In his free time he writes books as a form of giving back to the future generations of hairdressers, he is a Success Coach for salons and salon professionals, he also travels quarterly to do motivational presentations to beauty schools all around the country.
