This book packed a punch-it covered a lot of deep topics in a small amount of pages. Tusa's language and use of imagery was beautiful even when discussing a dark topic such as death. I immediately felt a connection with the main character Hailey and could almost hear the drawl in her voice as I read. My only confusion with this book is whether or not it is a young adult or adult novel. The subject matter is very mature, but the main characters are all young and dealing with issues that might not affect adults as much. That being said, I think this was a very well-written book. I think the ending fit the book well even if it wasn't very positive.
