The author has a way of creating characters that seem to pop off the page. Even though this was a very quick read, I really felt that I knew Amanda as a friend.
However, I felt that this story could have been fleshed out a little better. I am sure that the author could have gone into a little more detail on the events that transpired. I don’t want to go into too much detail. As I said, it is a very short read and just mentioning too much can give the whole story away.
This book was considerably longer then the first one that I read by this author. Again I had received a coupon code in exchange for a review.
Once again, the author really delivered on creating characters that were believable. At times the story felt a little slow moving and choppy. However it really was a great tale. I loved the fact that young Ian had met up with Izzy after the fishing tournament.
One thing I came away with was the fact that sometimes life’s lessons come from people and places that you would never expect.
Another thing I would like to comment on is the fact that the father character was extremely narrowed minded towards the beginning. But then again, many people were like that back in those times.
At first, I was wondering how a self-published author would be able to pull off such an ambitious project. I have to say that Joseph Fullam definitely does that and more.
Maher’s mother drops a bombshell on him. His father is not just away on another planet doing research. He is actually no longer in a physical form. And they are not really from Juniper. This changes his whole perspective on life as he knows it. However, he is warned that some of his research may lead to the Quadra to come after him.
Then the action starts. You follow Maher and Jules as they traipse across planets in order to fight for their lives.
There were small things like grammar and spelling that were a little messed up. But that happens when you are working without an editor. And the things that I noticed that were incorrect, I sent a message off to Joe and he was quite happy that I brought it to his attention.
Dirty Little Angels

This is a gritty tail told from the eyes of a 16 year old named Hailey. Hailey attempts to put into perspective her alcoholic father, her depressed mom, and her miscreant brother.
This author definitely has a way with descriptions and metaphors. A perfect example would be “I could feel little pinpricks of light behind my eyes, my muscles started to squirm like a black nest of moccasins, and my blood felt like chiggers wriggling under my skin.”
Hailey’s mom spends her days laying listlessly in bed staring at an ultrasound picture of the baby she had recently miscarried. One reason that she gives for not being able to go back to work is because she hurt her back months ago.
Her father was laid off from work and now spends his days drinking, playing pool and betting on horses. However, at night, he spends his time either sleeping on the couch at home or sleeping with Iris, the waitress from the local Mexican restaurant.
Her brother has been arrested several times. He hangs out with a really rough crowd. Drugs and violence are common themes in his life.
This was a really great read, but if you like all light and fluff in stories, then don’t read this. This book shows the dirty underbelly of humanity at its worst.
I received a copy of this ebook from LibraryThing Member Giveaways in exchange for a review.
I have really mixed feelings about this book. First off, I love the fact that he is including so many various Reiki attunements to a lot of different modalities.
However, he does not instruct how to use the modalities. Different modalities have different signs and symbols. Some have prayers or special rites to perform prior to using them on yourself or a person you are healing. Basically, you get a brief run down of what each modality is in essence. And I mean really brief. Then you get a page or two for each modality saying to read aloud a sentence saying you accept that attunement.
Yes, I know he attached the energy so that you can accept the attunement. However, if you don’t know how to use the energy, then what good is it? It would be nice if he included the manuals in the book. Instead, you have to sign up and be approved for his site in order to get the manuals. I am currently awaiting approval to access the site so I can not tell you how great or bad the manuals are. However, judging by the attunement book, I do not have high hopes.
There was one attunement where he lists a site in order to get the manual from the original person. However, that site has now listed on there that no one has completed the course long enough to have received the ability to attune others nor even do a complete healing on others. So this makes me wonder how many of the other attunements that are being offered are being given from true love and light and which ones are being offered through theft of a system.
Yes, it is nice to offer something for low cost since you have to pay for the book to begin with. However, if the person who channeled the system was told by spirit that there must be some sort of donation or some sort of teaching alongside of it, then who are we to judge and who is he to steal it and then sell it.
I really wish that I had better words to say about this book, but I really get an uneasy feeling about it.
I have since received approval to the site. However, once approved you have to PAY to be able to see anything on the site. So he gets even more money out of you then what you paid for the books. And he is also getting money for Reiki manuals that he does not legally own the rights to sell.
