Despite a successful career as a teacher, despite building a multi-million dollar direct sales business over 15 years, despite being married to the love of her life for 34 years, despite raising two children who reached adulthood well-adjusted, and despite gaining a black belt in Tae Kwondo at 49½, Bev faced her 50th birthday and wanted more. She had wanted to be a professional speaker and trainer for many years but had used every excuse under the sun – calling them ‘reasons’ – and the clincher was ‘You’re turning 50: forget it! You’re too old’.
Instead of listening to that inner voice, Bev decided to go for it, and in 2007, just after her 50th birthday, she established Master Networking, a speaking and training business teaching professionals how to network strategically. Her client list today reads like a Who’s Who of accounting, legal and financial institutions.
That success led to her writing Now We’re Talking: Inspiring Stories for Mature Women, a candid account of her personal and professional journey, peppered with tips on how to overcome self-doubt and make the move you’ve longed for, and backed up by the lessons and learnings of twelve other amazing women. Bev has also since established Women’s Business Now, mentoring women to realise their dreams.

What would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail? I have always answered this question with 'I would be a professional speaker and trainer.’ However, I lacked the confidence and knowledge of the process involved in establishing a business. I also find excuses to put this off.
As I approached my 50th birthday I made a decision to begin my speaking and training business, a challenging process but one that has been so fulfilling as I am now living the life of my choosing.
