Biography
Early in life Pierce Wilson acquired a great respect for the uniformed men and women in the service of their country. As a preschooler, he mimicked commands as he watched--through a cyclone fence--high school ROTC students drill on a parade ground. Later, after four years’ training at an all-boys semi-military academy, and four more years in a college ROTC program, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army upon graduation. He served on active duty briefly and in the Army Reserves thereafter until being honorably discharged with the rank of Captain.
As a war buff, and amateur historian, Pierce has followed the Osama bin Laden raid since the story broke May 1, 2011. Even though many of the revelations that comprise the official story-line made little sense, he accepted the version reported by the U. S. mainstream media until early August when more than twenty American servicemen, including members of SEAL Team Six, were reported to have died in a mysterious helicopter crash in northeastern Afghanistan. This event inspired Pierce’s personal quest to comb the Internet for everything he could find about the raid and its aftermath. The more his research revealed, the more apparent it became that the Obama administration was as inclined to manufacture good news as it was to suppress bad, and that its lapdog press was happy to serve as co-conspirator in the process.
When no one else blew the whistle on the Obama administration for spiking the ball by claiming it “got bin Laden,” Pierce chose the medium of fiction to depict an alternate--and likely more accurate--version of what occurred the night of the raid. In the novel, he included end notes with links to his sources.
