Conor Purcell was born in Dublin in 1978. Since then, he has lived and worked everywhere from Hong Kong and South Korea to Israel, and his present home, Dubai. He has been published everywhere from Foreign Policy and the Guardian to CNN Traveler and The Independent. He set up a publishing company in 2010 called Wndr Media which has so far released the first mobile guide to Kabul (www.wndrkabul.com) and The Dubai 50, a satirical guide to Dubai. He also edits Emirates' inflight magazine, Open Skies.
