Zack Keller

Biography

Zack Keller was born the son of a lawyer and an elementary school reading teacher so he learned at a young age to keep his nose buried in books and away from the law.

After many years enjoying the forest, friends and food Northern California had to offer, Zack moved to Los Angeles to attend USC’s School of Cinematic Arts before working for Pixar Animation Studios.

Along with the creative genius of his long-time friend Ed Skudder, the two directors founded their own animation company known curiously as Remochoso and created “Dick Figures“, the highest viewed/rated animated web series on YouTube with over 250 million views and counting. Thanks to the overwhelming support of their fans, Zack and Ed were able raise $313,000 via Kickstarter to fund a feature-length “Dick Figures The Movie” now set for release in Spring 2013.

Recently, Zack was nominated for Best Directing for an Animated Television Production at the Annie Awards and Best Animated Series at the Streamy Awards. His work has been highlighted by USA Today, LA Times, LA Weekly, Animation Magazine (Rising Stars of Animation 2011), and TechCrunch, amongst others.

At night, however, Zack always wrote novels. His first novel, The Success of Suexliegh (International Book Awards *Finalist* & San Francisco Book Festival *Honorable Mention*), a humorous farce chronicling the world’s richest man sent to prison for failing to pay his taxes, was critically praised and maintains a highly positive rating of 4.7/5 stars on Amazon. His second book, Penwell, is slated to be released Fall 2013.

Zack currently lives in Los Angeles with his girlfriend and their destructive dwarf rabbit. If it is daytime, he is working in animation. If it is nighttime, he is probably writing.
