This is a free sample of a young adult fantasy I'm working on to fill the void of Harry Potter that so many are trying to do at the moment.
Skip is a boy who has a troubled life filled with giant birds that he tends to but soon his quaint world is interrupted by a stranger rider on a jet black horse who takes him from his home to go to a school that teaches special abilities.

I am a dumbass, genius, heterosexual, paranoid, geeky, quirky, dreamy, toasty, born again, ass-kickin', cocky sonofabitch who loves the sound of his own voice. I don't claim to be the greatest writer, singer, guitarist or pianist ever created by God's callused fingers but I do love a good story. You're here because you love a good story too. Most of my stories are a compiling of old ideas and story lines slapped together with duct tape to create something unstable, entertaining and unique. You're either going to hate me or love me. I hope for the latter.
