I'm only half way through this book. I borrowed an ereader to make reading easier than on the computer. I like this book. It's very easy to read it. Very down to earth writing. The main character is 16 and the story is told in her point of view. Like I said, I am not done this book yet, but it won't be long. I recommend you get this book.
Be prepared to want to read the rest of the books in the series! They are not out yet, but you are going to want to get to them right away! Once I started reading this book, I couldn't stop. It was annoying when my e-reader needed charging. lol Seriously! Chris's writing style just draws you right in. You feel like you are right there in the book. I love books like this. You just keep going and going and want to read more. And I do. Hurry up Chris! Finish the next book already! :) :)
I am not going to spoil anything by telling what the book is about. You can read that in the book's description. But I must warn you - make sure you have everything at the ready - food, something to drink, comfy chair. Once you pick up the book, you won't want to put it down until you are done. :)
Thanks Chris for giving me the opportunity to read your book.
I just finished reading this on the weekend. I have a bunch of books on the go. I really enjoyed the short stories in this book, but not so much the poems. Personally, I think the 2 would be better as separate books. There were a lot of stories in this book. Lots of different topics. Some were just strange but good, some were rather humorous. I really enjoyed the humorous ones. :)
The first chapter was slow, but I don't like to quit once I start a book. After that, the book got really good. The concept of the gate and all that went on was really cool. The rest moved quickly. I didn't want to put this book down. But then the ending happened and it wasn't at all like I expected. There was so much build up in this book and then - to me, I felt it stopped before it was ready.
