I'm only half way through this book. I borrowed an ereader to make reading easier than on the computer. I like this book. It's very easy to read it. Very down to earth writing. The main character is 16 and the story is told in her point of view. Like I said, I am not done this book yet, but it won't be long. I recommend you get this book.
Wow! Lots of short stories and all with a twisted ending. They are so well written, that although they are short stories, they read like full in depth long stories. Some of them I could envision as becoming movies - even if they stemmed from short stories. Once I started reading this book, I had a really hard time putting it down. Several of the stories will be forever in my mind, including the one about Otto the cat. I recommend this book to all.
I just finished reading this on the weekend. I have a bunch of books on the go. I really enjoyed the short stories in this book, but not so much the poems. Personally, I think the 2 would be better as separate books. There were a lot of stories in this book. Lots of different topics. Some were just strange but good, some were rather humorous. I really enjoyed the humorous ones. :)
The first chapter was slow, but I don't like to quit once I start a book. After that, the book got really good. The concept of the gate and all that went on was really cool. The rest moved quickly. I didn't want to put this book down. But then the ending happened and it wasn't at all like I expected. There was so much build up in this book and then - to me, I felt it stopped before it was ready.
I just finished this. I didn't read book 1, but book is good on it's own. I can't wait for the next book. This is one of those books that just holds you attention and you don't want to put it down until you finished it.
