One fine day in the not-too-distant past, Lisa Clark O’Neill left Wittenberg University with a BA in English, which she promptly neglected. After working as an interior designer, decorative artist, and Montessori art teacher (there may have been a BA in art as well,) she finally settled into the role of mother to two very fine children. However, two years of doing the stay-at-home-mom brain cell melt drove her to pull out a pen and one of her old college notebooks. That turned into six manuscripts. Lisa spent subsequent years avoiding housework by burying her nose in just about every romance novel she could get her hands on, after completely falling in love with the genre. Her own work falls into the roman ... read more

I love to read history; and every time I read something new I have questions. I read the what and when in the book but I want to know the why. It's always troubled me when the author doesn't say and I wonder why not. Then I have to find out, and the answer is often a fascinating story that history has overlooked. I want to tell that story. I try to humanize the great events of history for they involved real people with human frailties and emotions like we all have. Nothing is ever black or white; I live in the gray then I tell the tale.

Since my early teens I’ve been a wanderer, fortunate to have lived in three continents and experienced what plurality, humanism and tolerance are all about. A career in multinational management revealed further cultures and customs, and also the follies and foibles of men. But life is all too fickle, and there are days when I live in fear - a fear of regression, of forgetting the errors of the past and the achievements that mankind as a whole has reached. When such fears assail me, I like to hide under a book cover and exorcise those demons by reading of the heroics of past ages and how we have survived as a civilization. It helps. It helps a lot!
