I make my home with my beautiful wife and family in a suburb of Los Angeles, among a cluttered collection of too-big, cookie-cutter structures.
Here I rest each night after a long (and somewhat miserable) commute from the glass monoliths of Century City through the lowlands, cloistered away from the multi-hued grid of American culture, pretending that I am above it all.
Currently, I run this little blog, ply a trade as an executive in a financial services firm and muddle along as a wannabe author. I’m just having fun!!!!
Yet, in my life I have donned many uniforms. I have been:

Amy Joy
Amy Joy wanted to be Santa Claus when she grew up. Not realizing until much later that she would never grow a beard, she set out to make people happy. But she noticed early on that life and the world we live in is quite a complicated thing, so she began writing to make sense of it all. Her first book, THE ACADEMIE, attempts to deal with some of serious issues of life, while revealing that true love is more than just the stuff of fairytales and love really can conquer all. Most of her current work(s)-in-progress deal with similar themes, though some deal in just plain silliness--because life is no fun without it.

Hey there. My name is J.E. Tobal. I'm a drunk, a writer, a cynic, an idiot, and I probably don't like you.
I was born and raised in South Florida. Many people would argue that this has ruined me for life. I left as soon was I able and came to New York City where I attended NYU and received a degree in English. It's a smidge colder here, but there's also a lot less alligators and deadly snakes. I'm fine with this.
